The White House has refuted claims that President Joe Biden’s mental state is deteriorating, after a series of viral clips showing him “frozen” in place at various events.
Speaking to the press on Monday June 17, Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre accused “right-wing critics” of selectively editing videos in a “misinformation” campaign aimed at questioning his mental state.

To clarify on the incident, the White House shared longer footage showing Biden smiling and taking in the applause, calling the edited clip “misinformation.”

“And instead of talking about the president’s performance in office, and what I mean by that is his legislative wins, what he’s been able to do for the American people across the country, we’re seeing these deepfakes, these manipulated videos.”
“I think you all have called this the ‘cheap fakes’ video and that’s exactly what they are, they are cheap fakes video, and they are done in bad faith,” said the press secretary.
White House Dismisses the Juneteenth Video
She also dismissed the video that claimed that Biden froze at a White House Juneteenth event, where people around him including Vice President Kamala Harris were seen dancing to music.
“The president stood there listening to the music and he didn’t dance. Excuse me, I did not know dancing was a health issue,” she said.
The incident has sparked renewed scrutiny of Biden’s mental state, particularly as he prepares to face Donald Trump in their first televised debate.
Trump Weighs in on the Viral Videos
Similarly, Trump has weighed in on the issue, commenting on a viral video of Biden appearing confused during a D-Day event in France.
