City Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Monday, July 24 mocked the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) for failure to draft a ‘legitimate/competent’ charge sheet against Maina Njenga and Digital Strategist Pauline Njoroge.
“I’m still laughing. You mean the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution has no one – not one individual – who is capable of drafting a legitimate/competent Charge Sheet against Maina Njenga, Pauline Njoroge & Co?” Miguna wrote on his Twitter account.
He further claimed that there could be people scheming to sabotage the government, questioning whether that was the reason the DPP recruiting panel left him out.
“Or perhaps Uhuru Kenyatta’s agents are engaged in acts of legal sabotage against the government of William Ruto? Is this why I wasn’t shortlisted? So that the charade continues for another 60 years? I’m on the floor, laughing my head off.” He added.
Miguna made these remarks after the court released Jubilee official Pauline Njoroge and her co-accused persons on free bond.

Court Frees Pauline Njoroge
Police arrested Pauline Njoroge, Jane Mwangi Nduta and Emanze Jilani on Saturday, July 22 while in Watamu over possession of narcotic drugs.
The trio were arraigned in court on Monday, July 24.
Moreover, Njoroge was charged with false publication under the computer and cybercrime Act 2015.
The charge was regarding a tweet she posted about a police operation in Nyalenda, Kisumu County.
She was also accused of cyber harassment.
The charge read: “On 21st day of July 2023 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya posted on your verified twitter account @paulinenjoroge to wit “Nikiweka Biblia Chini, nachukua bunduki na nikuwe dictator?”
“On 21st day of July 2023 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya posted on your verified twitter account @paulinenjoroge to wit “William Ruto surely?!!! This is how low you want to stoop?” Reads another charge.
Furthermore, in her application, state counsel Vivian Kambuga had sought to have the suspects held for 30 days to allow police complete investigations.
She also asked for orders to search Pauline’s homes and other areas she has been visiting.
However, the magistrate said all the requests did not touch on the second and third accused persons saying that they be released indefinitely.
Furthermore, the court dismissed the application saying that the applicant was not specific on what was to be searched.
“The issue of her release did not arrive, and the only issue was on the bond terms. The court orders that they be released on free bond,” said Mwaniki.

In addition, the defence lawyers told the court that the charges against the accused persons were ridiculous and not anchored in law.
Nonetheless, the court ordered the suspects to be released on free bond to allow state agencies to have the suspects produced in court to face relevant charges.
“I order each of the suspects to be released each on a free bond the state has not justified the grounds for continued detention. The respondents should appear before the court on July 26 for further directions,” stated the magistrate.
