In a shocking revelation, a prominent Kenyan journalist has stepped forward to address a video circulating online that allegedly depicts him in an intoxicated state. Patrick Mayoyo, the journalist in question, claims that the video is part of a wider scheme of mental torture and manipulation orchestrated by unknown individuals with ulterior motives.
Mayoyo, a respected investigative journalist who recently received the prestigious Eric and Wendy Schmidt Award of Excellence in Science Communication, was invited to attend a workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The trip, which was fully sponsored, was in the preparation stages when an unfortunate discovery put their plans on hold.
“While making preparations, I discovered that some pages were missing from my passport. Upon consulting with authorities, I was informed that international travel with defaced travel documents is not permitted,” shared Mayoyo on his Facebook page, expressing his distress.

To compound matters, the journalist also discovered that an unidentified party had withdrawn funds from his bank account without authorization, adding to his already mounting distress.
Mayoyo promptly informed the workshop coordinator, Joshua Hatch, who reportedly expressed shock and dismay at the circumstances Overwhelmed by these frustrations, Mayoyo admits to having a drink, breaking his sobriety which, he had maintained since December. Unfortunately, he claims, the drink had been maliciously spiked with a dangerous substance by individuals whom he believes are responsible for his misfortunes.
“This lethal concoction turns you into a zombie within minutes, causing symptoms such as hallucinations, blurred vision, heightened blood pressure, inflamed muscles, and overall body pain,” he stated.

According to the journalist, it was during this compromised state that the individuals behind their mental torment took advantage of the situation, capturing the offensive videos and circulating them within a specific group.
As a multiple award-winning journalist, Mayoyo questions why he has become the target of such malicious acts when there are numerous journalists in Kenya who consume alcohol. He emphasizes the psychological torture he is enduring.
He firmly believes that there is a coordinated effort to destroy his reputation, and that this malicious group possesses significant resources and widespread influence throughout the country.
“The torment that has been inflicted upon me is not only excruciating and overwhelming, but also utterly heart-wrenching. It is a monstrous form of torture! However, I have resolved that they will never break or intimidate me until the day they kill me!” he declared emphatically.
The journalist also singled out his former colleague, Pastor Roy Vincent, expressing his disappointment and suggesting that the church leader failed to uphold the principles of a servant of God in response to this incident. However, Mayoyo did not provide specific details about the pastor’s comments.
As this story continues to unfold, it raises serious concerns about privacy invasion, mental torture, and manipulation through video content. The journalist’s allegations warrant a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the creation and dissemination of the video, as well as the broader context of his claims.
The public eagerly awaits further information from law enforcement agencies, as well as a response from relevant authorities regarding the alleged targeted harassment and mental torture faced by this journalist.
