What does this means for the race to qualify?
- Morocco, now on 6 points, has effectively secured a top-three finish. Their strong goal differential gives them a sound buffer ahead of their do-or-die final group clash against DR Congo who beat Angola later on Thursday evening.
- Zambia are now mathematically out of the running—zero points across three matches leaves no room for a comeback.
- DR Congo (6 pts) remain alive in the chase. The team must however beat Morocco to secure qualification.
- Kenya, (7 points) need just a win in their final match to be certain of top spot, though head-to-head results becomes relevant if they loose to Zambia while DR Congo and Morocco draw.
Tiebreakers and goal difference still matter
The final standings for second place will hinge on the outcomes between the last two matches (Zambia Vs Kenya), and (DR Cong Vs Morocco).
