Media personality and radio presenter Terry Muikamba announced on Friday, December 27, that she is leaving radio.
In her statement, Muikamba expressed heartfelt gratitude to her listeners for their support over the past 12 years and hinted that her departure marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“Allow me to be a little dramatic: after twelve years, I’m closing the chapter that began as my teenage dream. Radio has been my home and my heartbeat, and I owe it all to you for tuning in and allowing me to share my voice every single day.
I can’t thank you enough for being my audience during these amazing years. However, don’t go anywhere just yet—this isn’t a goodbye; it’s just the start of a new adventure,” she shared.
Muikamba announces her departure from radio
Before her departure, Muikamba worked at Hot 96 FM under Royal Media Services, hosting shows such as “Rhythm Junction” and “The Rewind,” where she delivered engaging and informative content to her audience.
Her media journey began at Family Media Radio in May 2012. She joined Royal Media Services in June 2016, working at Hot 96 FM until December 2017.

Muikamba then joined Radio Africa-owned Classic 105, where she co-hosted the “Classic Overdrive” show alongside Mike Mondo, earning recognition for her dynamic style and rapport with listeners.
In December 2020, Terry left Classic 105 to join Kenya Television Network (KTN) as the host of the “Mega Deals Show,” which aired live every Wednesday at 8 p.m. She made a return to Hot 96 in January 2021, hosting an afternoon show called “The Rewind.”
Terry’s projects outside her media career
Beyond her media career, Muikamba is actively involved in community projects. One of her initiatives, “Asili Safi,” addresses waste pollution in rural Kenyan schools by promoting sustainable waste management.

The program educates communities about the waste crisis, trains them on proper disposal techniques, and empowers schools with resources like segregated bins.

Another project, “Ukulima Wima,” focuses on helping children’s homes in Nairobi become self-sufficient through vertical farming pods. This initiative enhances nutrition for children, combats malnutrition, and emphasizes the importance of sustainable food production.
Muikamba is an alumni of the University of Nairobi, where she studied law from 2010 to 2015.
Despite excelling in her law exams, her passion for media led her to pursue a certification in radio production at MTA Homeboyz, ultimately choosing to build a career in broadcasting over practicing law.
