Former Kenyatta University TV (KUTV) anchor, Ann Odida has joined TV47 as a news anchor.
Confirming the move on Saturday, March 23, the Cape media owned station shared a clip of the journalist anchoring the 1 PM news bulletin.
The mainstream media house further acknowledged the confidence of the news reporter in the department.
“The beautiful, articulate, and confident Anne Odida officially joins Tv47 news as a news anchor… Welcome!!” TV47 shared.
In a short clip, Odida expressed her gratitude for joining one of Kenya’s fastest-rising TV stations and outlined her objective and expectations at her new station.
“My name is Anne Odida and I am very much honored to settle as your news presenter right here on TV47 news,” she announced.
“I am here to ensure that you are engaged, informed and empowered. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your homes, let’s get the headlines,” she said to usher in her new era at TV 47.
TV47 Hires Another Host
This announcement comes hours after Cape Media announced the entry of former Radio Citizen show host and presenter, Shatta Bway.
In a statement, the media house revealed that Jacob Maunda popularly known as Shatta Bway was joining the station as a show host.
Additionally, they revealed that the TV host will be the company’s new director of projects and strategy for Maybets .

“Shatta Bway joins Cape Media Limited; he will be the Director, Projects and Strategy for Maybets as well as TV47 and Radio47 host,” the statement read.
The former Royal media host had revealed in an interview that he was quitting Citizen to raise his children after his wife had passed on in June 2023.
Shatta Reveals Reasons He Quitted Citizen
“Where I am at in life, I am making decisions as two parents. I must think like a mother and as a father and I need time with my children. My son is a teenager aged 13 years old and that is the point a parent is like to lose their children unknowingly,” he shared.
The media personality further revealed that his move was according to her late wife’s pleads to take care of their children.
“Go home and protect the children, I’m resting,” he recounted his wife’s plead.

Additionally, Shata Bway revealed that he needed to spend more time with his two children.
“I feel I need time with the children at this moment. I can’t be in a career that will tie me down daily limiting me from accomplishing what I want to do with my children,” Shatta Bway added.
However, the media host later posted a clip on his social media platforms announcing that he has moved to another station.
” My people, we have moved,” Shatta Bway announced.
