Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned electricity interruptions across parts of Nairobi, Bungoma, Nyeri, and Kiambu on Sunday, September 27.
The scheduled outages will affect residential areas, businesses, schools, hospitals, hotels, government facilities, and diplomatic establishments.
Most of the affected areas will experience interruptions for up to eight or nine hours, depending on the location. KPLC said the planned interruptions are part of its network maintenance program.
List of Nairobi Areas to be Affected by Power Outage
In Nairobi, power supply in parts of Muthaiga will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected network covers Karura Avenue, parts of Limuru Road and Muthaiga Road, Muthaiga Mini Market and neighboring customers.
Several diplomatic establishments are also within the affected area, including the Israel Embassy, German Embassy and Residence, Belgian Embassy and Residence, Italian Residence, Indian High Commission and the US Embassy Residence at Pax Manor.

The interruption will also affect South C during the same 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. window. Listed facilities include Nairobi South Hospital, Kenya Red Cross, Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), Toyota Kenya, KNEC South C, KIRDI, Ministry of Energy’s KAWI House, Next Gen Mall, Eka Hotel and Ole Sereni Hotel.
Residential estates and roads within the South C network, including Mugoya Phase 4, Amana Estate, Al Mubarak Estate, South End Estate, Muhoho Avenue, Popo Road and parts of Ole Shapara Road, are also listed for the interruption.
Parts of Komarock and Kayole will similarly lose electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected locations include Komarock Phase 1, Mbuyu Court, Acacia Court, Mihango, Kayole Junction, Tushauriane, Kayole 1 Market, Kayole Police Station, Matopeni, Kayole Posta and surrounding areas.
Bungoma Areas to Experience Different Outage Windows
In Bungoma County, Kenya Power has scheduled maintenance in two separate areas.
The Webuye Jaggery and Kapsokwony section will experience an interruption from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Listed locations include United Millers, Sirisia, Bunjosi, Webuye Jaggery, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwelo, Makhele, and surrounding customers.
Meanwhile, residents and businesses around Mabanga and Malakisi will experience shorter interruptions, running from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The affected network includes Bungoma Polytechnic, Skata, Matega, Chwele, Terem Power, Malakisi, Butonge, Chepkube, Lwaha, Terem High and Kuiywo Girls, among other customers.

Nyeri and Kiambu Counties Scheduled for Maintenance
In Nyeri County, two areas are scheduled for planned maintenance between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The first is St. Mary, Majengo, where the affected locations include St Mary’s Senior School, parts of Blue Valley, parts of Majengo, and Consolata Primary School.
The second is the Mary Immaculate area, covering Mary Immaculate Hospital, Beatrice Court, parts of Soko Huru, Meeting Point, the County Assembly of Nyeri, Ruring’u, Jacaranda, and surrounding customers.
In Kiambu County, the interruption will affect Ruiru Kimbo and Murera Coffee from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The extensive list includes Murera Kimbo, Murera Coffee, Mugutha, Ruiru KU Model School, GSU Ruiru, Spur Mall, NIBS, Ruiru Golf Club, Mona Park, Mugutha Secondary School, Murera Primary School, Mugutha Police Station, Neema Estate, River Line Estate, Dam Ridge Estate, Rwera Dam, Makaburi Village and surrounding customers.
