Didi Wamukoya Watenya is a woman who keeps a low profile and shows little interest in political theatrics, while her husband, Edwin Sifuna, handles political pressure.
She is the daughter of the former Member of Parliament for the Matungu constituency and the former Minister of Lands, Joseph Wamukoya, and was born and raised in Kenya.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Environmental Law, both from the University of Nairobi.
Didi also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

Didi is a trained investigator with various law enforcement agencies in wildlife crime.
She joined the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the government agency charged with protecting and managing Kenya’s wildlife and wildlands, in 2007.

From 2007 to July 2015, Didi served as Head of Prosecution and Investigation Officer at Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and as a Parliamentary Assistant to Noah Wekesa.
Didi also serves as the director of wildlife law enforcement in Africa for the African Wildlife Foundation.
Additionally, she currently serves as the Senior Manager, Wildlife Law Enforcement, at the African Wildlife Foundation.
Before she was appointed Law Enforcement Manager in KWS, Didi served as Director of Counter Wildlife Trafficking at the African Wildlife Foundation since August 2021.
She is also a co-Author of a Book on Natural Resources and Environmental Justice in Kenya (Muigua K., Wamukoya D., Kariuki F., Natural Resources and Environmental Justice in Kenya (Glenwood Publishers Ltd, 2015)).
Meanwhile, Didi Wamukoya is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, having been admitted to the bar in 2007.

Didi Wamutoya is married to Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna.
The couple formalized their marriage in 2015. They are blessed with a daughter.

Achievements of Didi Wamukoya
In 2015, Didi Wamukoya set out to establish a new unit focused on improving wildlife law enforcement within the African Wildlife Foundation(AWF).
In wildlife, she has helped train judicial officers, prosecutors, investigators, and wildlife managers through a series of national and regional workshops.
As the head of prosecution at KWS, Didi Wamukoya has increased conviction rates for wildlife offenders and shifted judicial perception, treating wildlife crimes as serious rather than petty offenses.
