Cabinet Secretary nominees vetting enters day three on Wednesday, October 19 at the National Assembly.
So far 10 nominees out of the 22 who were appointed by President William Ruto last month have appeared before the vetting committee
Moreover, five more Cabinet Secretary nominees are today set to appear before the 15-member Committee on Appointments, chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula.
Appearing before the committee first will be Roads, Transport and Public Works Cabinet Secretary nominee Kipchumba Murkomen, followed by Rosalinda Soipan Tuya who has been nominated to the Environment and Forestry docket then Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage nominee Peninah Malonza who will then take the stage later followed by Zacharia Mwangi Njeru of the Lands, Housing and Urban Development ministry.
Furthermore, Health CS nominee Susan Nakhumicha Wafula will end the day’s exercise.
Nevertheless, the process of vetting the CS nominees will run through to Saturday, October 22, except for Thursday, October 20, when the country will observe Mashujaa Day.
The nominated Cabinet Secretaries are required to present before the committee their original IDs, academic and professional certificates, as well as letters of clearance and compliance from EACC, KRA, HELB, DCI and CRB.

So far, the Cabinet Secretary nominees who have appeared before the vetting committee include Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary), Justin Muturi (Attorney General position), Aden Duale (Defense CS nominee), Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs and Diaspora), Alice Wahome (Water, Sanitation and Irrigation) who were all vetted on Monday, October 17.
Others who appeared before the committee on Tuesday, October 18, include Prof Kithure Kindiki (Interior and National Administration), Njuguna Ndung’u (National Treasury and Planning), Aisha Jumwa (Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action), Davis Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum), and Moses Kuria (Trade, Investment and Industry).
