Moi’s son, Raymond Moi, has lost the title deeds for four prime land parcels in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
According to the Kenya Gazette published on July 31, 2026, Raymond Moi Kipruto is listed as the registered proprietor of several parcels of land in Kitale Municipality, Trans Nzoia County, whose certificates of title have been reported lost.
“WHEREAS Raymond Kipruto Moi, of P.O. Box 16680–00620, Nairobi in the Republic of Kenya, is registered as proprietor of all that parcel of land, known as L.R. No. 5360/1, situate in Kitale,” read one of the notices.
From the notices, the specific missing titles and their corresponding Gazette Notices are as follows:
- Gazette Notice No. 11504: All that parcel of land known as L.R. No. 5360/1, registered as I.R. 25619/1.
- Gazette Notice No. 11505: All that parcel of land known as L.R. No. 9284, registered as I.R. 17652/1.
- Gazette Notice No. 11506: A second notice for the parcel known as L.R. No. 9284, registered as I.R. 17652/1.
- Gazette Notice No. 11507: All that parcel of land known as L.R. No. 95360/1, registered as I.R. 25619/1.

60 Days to Object Before Raymond Moi Receives New Title Deeds
According to the Registrar of Titles, sufficient evidence was provided to show that the certificates of title had been lost.
The Registrar stated that provisional certificates of title will be issued after the expiry of 60 days from the date of the notice, provided no valid objections are received within that period.
“Whereas sufficient evidence has been adduced to show that the said certificate of title has been lost, notice is given that after the expiration of sixty (60) days from the date hereof, I shall issue a provisional certificate of title provided that no objection has been received within that period,” the notice stated.

Raymond Moi Kipruto first came into the public spotlight through the Moi family’s political circle before joining elective politics under the Kenya African National Union (KANU).
In 2013, he was elected Member of Parliament for Rongai Constituency on a KANU ticket. He successfully retained the seat in 2017, becoming the constituency’s first MP to win a second consecutive term.
He served in Parliament from 2013 to 2022 before losing the Rongai parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election to Paul Kibet Chebor of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
As of 2026, Raymond Moi has not returned to elective office. Outside politics, he has continued to be associated with Moi High School Kabarak, where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
