Details of an impeachment motion for the Governor of Nairobi City County Johnson Sakaja have been revealed.
A statement by a vocal politician and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Member of the County Assembly for Kileleshwa Ward in Nairobi County Robert Alai on Tuesday, November 12, affirmed that Sakaja’s impeachment motion is ready.
“We have a completely incompetent individual as Nairobi governor. He is destroying the city together with the speaker who is his youth-winger. Impeachment motion ready!” Alai’s statement read in part.
The impeachment claims regarding Sakaja have been around for a while now. On September 3, the governor dismissed the existence of a plot suggesting his removal from office.
Speaking during the opening of a “Dishi na County” kitchen in Umoja, he insisted that his detractors have been spreading these allegations to hinder his plans for the residents of Nairobi however, the same plans seem to be resurfacing again.
