In a statement on April 23, Orengo said he had met Raburu and described their discussion as “positive”, while revealing the role Raburu is expected to play within the movement.
“Today, I had an engaging one‑on‑one discussion with Willis Raburu. He’s officially bringing his signature youthful energy, corporate MC expertise, and creative media edge to the Linda Mwananchi Movement,” Orengo said.
He added that Raburu had decided to align with the movement as he prepares for his senatorial bid in Kisumu.
“Willis is running for the Kisumu Senatorial seat, and we are thrilled he’s chosen to board our bus, a movement fueled by the aspirations of the youth and a drive for a better Kenya,” Orengo stated.

Civic Appeal in Kisumu Draws Attention to Possible 2027 Bid
On April 4, Willis Raburu shared a message addressed to Kisumu residents, urging them to register to vote and actively participate in the 2027 General Election.
Raburu stressed the importance of civic participation, urging residents to take an active role in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 elections.
He noted that meaningful leadership can only be achieved when citizens fully exercise their right to vote, saying that before discussions about leaders begin, people must first secure “the most important tool of democracy, the vote.”
The message sparked discussion online, with many viewing it as a clear sign of his intention to seek elective office.
The group has already attracted leaders such as Kisumu Governor James Orengo, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.
In recent weeks, the movement has stepped up its activities, holding rallies and public engagements across the country. Plans are also underway for a series of events in western Kenya, including meetings in Vihiga and Kisumu.
