Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has directed Kenyans criticizing him to unfollow him on social media.
Taking to his Facebook (FB) page, Salasya said he plans to remain with his loyal supporters and block the rest.
“I want everybody who doesn’t believe in me to unfollow me immediately and It’s not a request. I want to remain with few in support here… If you insult me, I will block you. Let’s start now,” he said.
This comes after a section of Kenyans on social media criticized Salasya for slapping an MCA during a burial ceremony in Kakamega on Friday, January 12.
“Am now dealing here with loyal supporters only on this account, tu moles tutoke hapa na si tafadhali …u can’t follow me, and you are number one to criticize me,” he lamented.
However, the MP emphasized that he will not allow anyone to insult him on social media vowing to continue blocking such users.
“I will continue removing them, you will never hear them again here. If someone wants to insult me, let them insult me at their place but not here,” stated Salasya.
The Mumias East MP further revealed that he had already blocked five hundred followers on FB, adding that he plans to get rid of another fifty thousand in future.
Besides, the MP said he is undergoing social media therapy and will only respond to questions raised by his faithful followers.
“So far I have blocked 500 people I am now remaining with 50k to block I remain with only 100k faithful supporters who will be asking me what happened what prompted all this and not those cursing me here left right …am also on social media therapy,” Salasya explained.
Salasya Slaps MCA
Salasya came under harsh criticism after a video footage showing him slap Malaha MCA Peter Walunya during a funeral function surfaced online.
In the video, the first time MP was addressing mourners when the incident occurred.
Salasya can be heard instructing the then unidentified man to take a seat as he was speaking.
“Wee enda kaa chini sasa, enda kaa chini! Nani enda kaa chini! Enda kaa chini,” shouted the MP, which loosely translates to, “Go and sit now!”

Things got out of control when the then unidentified politician defied Salasya;s instructions, prompting him to descend on the MCA with a slap.
Afterwards, the MP was arrested but released on a Ksh50,000 cash bail pending his arraignment on Tuesday, January 16.
According to the police, Salasya is likely to be charged with causing actual bodily harm and assault.
He also faces charges of creating disturbance in a manner that could lead to a peace breach.

Mumias MP Issues an Apology
Speaking after the incident, the MP apologized for his actions and promised to control his anger and reaction in future.
He however blamed the devil for his recent outbursts and drama.
“I Peter Salasya wishes to express sincere apology to the people of Mumias East & all Kenyans at large. My actions in the recent past has not been that of a role model or an example to the young men & women. Going forward, I promise to control my anger & reaction. Ni shetani aki,” he posted on X.
The incident attracted criticism from politicians including Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
