Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced several job opportunities. In a notice on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Authority asked qualified and interested candidates to apply.
“Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) was established in 1991 under the KAA Act Cap 395 to provide infrastructure for aviation services in Kenya. Guided by its mandate, the Authority is seeking to recruit competent and self-driven individuals to fill the under-listed positions,” read part of the notice.
Among the jobs advertised are 50 internship opportunities. According to KAA the 12-month program is designed to connect academic knowledge with real-world experience, providing participants with practical skills and a deeper understanding of airport operations and public sector management.
KAA Announces Job Opportunities
The internship program will offer the following:
- Interns will have access to KAA’s online learning platforms and collaborative tools to promote continuous personal and professional growth.
- The program also involves active participation in interdepartmental projects, research tasks, and innovation-focused activities.
- Interns will attend training sessions and seminars on key topics such as communication, leadership, ethics, customer care, and effective time management.
- Participants will be assigned to various departments, including HR, finance, procurement, administration, IT, security, corporate affairs, engineering, and operations. Each intern will be supported by designated mentors and supervisors who offer guidance, monitor progress, and provide ongoing feedback.

Another position advertised by the Authority is the Apron Controller, which was initially advertised. There are 40 slots available for this position. Selected candidates will participate in a structured, one-year on-the-job training program.
Other Positions Advertised
Based on their performance and the organization’s staffing needs, some trainees may be considered for permanent employment upon completing the training.
Duties and responsibilities of the Apron Controller include:
- Conducting routine inspections of the apron to identify hazards, fuel spills, or foreign object debris (FOD) and initiating appropriate responses.
- Enforcing apron discipline by ensuring only authorized vehicles and personnel access airside zones.
- Maintaining detailed logs of apron activities and submitting incident or occurrence reports according to airport safety protocols.
- Managing the positioning and retrieval of ground support equipment in a timely and safe manner.
Other positions advertised by KAA include Manager, Management Accounting (1 slot), and Manager, Risk and Compliance (1 slot). Successful candidates for these roles will be offered permanent and pensionable positions.
