Real Madrid and Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted at leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr this summer.
In a statement on his social media platforms, Ronaldo said his current chapter is over, but his career story is still being written.
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” Ronaldo said.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently said Ronaldo can participate in the upcoming Club World Cup.
Al-Nassr failed to qualify for the expanded tournament, which will feature 32 clubs for the first time.
“Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo could play in the Club World Cup. Negotiations are ongoing with some clubs, so if a club is watching this and interested in signing Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows,” Infantino said.
The Club World Cup is scheduled to run from June 14 to July 13 in the United States.
FIFA introduced an additional transfer window this summer from June 1 to June 10.
This it to allow clubs taking part in the Club World Cup to complete transfers before the tournament starts.
The statements from Ronaldo and Infantino have sparked a debate on which club the Star might join next.
Ronaldo is already linked to some of the Clubs featuring in the Club World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo Moving to Brazil
Marca and Team Talks have reported that Brazilian teams are interested in singing Ronaldo during the short transfer window.
Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo, and Fluminense will feature at the Club World Cup.
Signing for Palmeiras would set up a clash against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in Group A of the Club World Cup.
C.F. Monterrey
Ronaldo has also been linked with C.F. Mexican side, Monterrey.
Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that Monterrey actively seeks to sign Ronaldo for the Club World Cup.
Monterrey finished the Liga MX 2025 season in 7th position with 28 points from 17 matches.
The team in Group of E of the Club World Cup alongside Inter Milan, River Plate, and Urawa Reds in the Club World Cup group stage.
If Ronaldo joins the Mexican club, he will reunite with his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos.

Wydad Casablanca
Moroccan side, Wydad Casablanca, also dreams of signing Ronaldo for the Club World Cup.
Wydad Casablanca’s interest has been reported by Marca and former Manchester United midfielder Nordin Amrabat.
Amrabat, who currently plays for Wydad Casablanca said the club is interested in signing Ronaldo.
“The president is very ambitious and is still working with some very big names. It is true that Cristiano is one of them,” Amrabat said.
Al-Hilal
Other reported also indicate that Al-Nassr may send Cristiano Ronaldo to another team in Saudi Arabia, potentially Al-Hilal.
Asharq Al-Awsat reported that the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is pushing to convince Ronaldo to join Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo is reportedly not opposed to this move.
Al-Hilal is currently 2nd in the Saudi Pro League and is in Group C of the Club World Cup alongside RB Salzburg, CF Pachuca, and Real Madrid.

Sporting Lisbon
Portuguese media have reported that Ronaldo might move back to his childhood club.
Ronaldo is considered a potential replacement for striker Viktor Gyökeres, who might leave Sporting.
Sporting successfully defended their Liga Portugal title with a 2-0 win against Vitória SC, in the final game of the 2024/25 season.

MLS
Ronaldo has also received interest from MLS Clubs.
In an interview with The Sports Daily, Ronaldo’s former United teammate, Wes Brown, advised him to consider moving to the MLS.
He stated that the striker still has a lot to offer and should compete against Messi.
“Cristiano Ronaldo should consider America, especially with Messi there,” Brown said.
“His level of play is still incredible. He’s sprinting at 40 years old, and I think he has a lot left to offer. It would be exciting to see them face off again in the MLS.”
