Kenya Airways has announced a special discount for passengers travelling to Ivory Coast for African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 finals.
In a statement on Thursday, February 8, Kenya Airways said travelers to Abidjan will enjoy a 15 percent off their flight’s tickets.
The Airline explained that the sales period runs from February 8 to February 11, 2024, and passengers should use the promo code AFCON24 to enjoy the offer.

Kenya Airways further said the travel period is valid up to Feb 29, 2024.
“Market fare penalties, applicable fare difference, and change fees will apply for any changes made to the tickets outside,” read the statement in part.
The discount is applicable for return journey only and is specific for Kenya Airways-operated flights only.
Furthermore, the Airline emphasized that the other normal terms and conditions will apply to the discounted flights.
“Discounts are applicable on net fares only, excluding taxes and surcharges,” added the Airline.

AFCON Finals
Host nation Ivory Coast will face Nigeria at the finals on Sunday February 11 while South Africa will faceoff with DR Congo on the third-place play-off a day before.
The match between 2015 winners Ivory Coast and 2013 winners, Nigeria will be played at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara.
Ivory Coast secured a spot in the finals by defeating DR Congo 1-0 in the Semi-finals.
Nigeria knocked-out South Africa in the penalty shoot-out after the match ended in a 1-1 draw after extra times.
VAR ruled out Victor Osimhen’s goal, awarded a penalty and Teboho Mokoena successfully converted for South Africa.

Group Stages and Knockouts
Ivory Coast who qualified as third best losers eliminated defending champions Senegal in the round of 16 match and proceeded to win against Mali in the quarterfinals.
On the other hand, Nigeria eliminated Cameroon in the round of 16 and knocked out Angola in the quarterfinals.
The two teams were both in Group A where Nigeria qualified for the knockout stages with 7 points while Ivory Coast only managed to win one match.
In their group stage match on January 18, Nigeria won by one goal to zero.
