Dubai has launched a new city ambassador programme targeting residents, including the Kenyan community, by rewarding them for inviting family and friends to experience the destination.
The initiative ‘A Dubai Invite’, by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), allows residents from nearly 200 nationalities to access exclusive travel benefits, including hotel discounts, resort credits, attraction offers and transport deals.
For Kenyan residents living in Dubai, hosting visiting relatives or friends could unlock benefits up to KSh100,000, depending on the hotel package, length of stay and participating offers.
“Dubai has invited residents, including the city’s Kenyan community, to become ambassadors of the city through ‘A Dubai Invite’, providing those that know the destination the best with a simple and rewarding way to welcome loved ones to Dubai and create memorable experiences together,” read part of the statement.
Dubai Targets Residents as Destination Ambassadors
The programme is built around the role residents play in promoting Dubai as a global tourism destination.
Through their personal networks, residents are encouraged to invite visitors and showcase the city through authentic experiences.

According to DET, residents have consistently been among Dubai’s strongest advocates because of their familiarity with the city’s attractions, hospitality sector and lifestyle offerings.
Under the initiative, residents hosting visitors arriving between July 20 and October 31, 2026, must register their guests by September 30 to access the available benefits.
Visitor arrivals will then be confirmed through a unified verification process supported by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA – Dubai). Once verified, residents will gain access to offers provided by participating hotels, attractions, restaurants and the destinations.
Dubai Offers Kenyan Residents Hotel, Attraction and Lifestyle Offers
The programme provides residents with access to hospitality benefits, including hotel discounts of up to 45% on stays and resort credits up to 100% of room rates.
“Among the benefits through the programme are discounts of up to 45% on stays and 100% room rate equivalent resort credits at participating hotels including W Dubai Mina Seyahi, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Waterpark, Melia Desert Palm, and ME Dubai by Melia, as well as properties across the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio in the city,” the statement read.
The available hotel offers include properties such as W Dubai Mina Seyahi, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Waterpark, Melia Desert Palm and ME Dubai by Melia, alongside hotels under the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio in Dubai.
For Kenyan residents welcoming family members from home, these combined savings could significantly reduce the cost of accommodation and leisure activities during their guests’ stay.
Beyond hotels, the programme also includes offers at some of Dubai’s popular attractions, including Aquaventure Waterpark, IMG Worlds of Adventure and Grand Hyatt Waterpark.
Residents and their guests can also benefit from discounts and privileges at selected food and beverage outlets such as Asia Asia, Ula, Papas, The 305, and Lock, Stock & Barrel.

Programme Offers Benefits Until End of 2026
The benefits under ‘A Dubai Invite’ are available for redemption until December 31, 2026, allowing residents to continue enjoying rewards even after their visitors have left the city.
Transport benefits are also included, with Careem offering complimentary Careem Plus membership alongside transport rebates on Hala Taxi and other services.
Each resident can unlock up to three verified benefits during the programme period, receiving one benefit per guest party.
The initiative aligns with the UAE’s Year of Family, with DET saying it reflects Dubai’s ambition to remain one of the world’s leading destinations to visit, live and work.
Through the programme, Dubai aims to strengthen the connection between residents and visitors by turning everyday residents into official advocates who can share their experiences of the city with friends and relatives worldwide.
