Jambo Jet has issued a 16-day travel advisory for travellers using the Moi International Airport in Mombasa due to scheduled road construction works along key access routes.
In a statement on August 22, the budget airline urged guests flying from Moi International Airport, Mombasa, to prepare for disruptions and possible delays.
The airline announced that the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is set to undertake road and drainage works between Makupa Bridge and Changamwe Interchange from Saturday, 23 August to Sunday, September 7, 2025.
“We wish to inform guests travelling from Moi International Airport, Mombasa, that the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNha) has announced planned road construction and drainage works,” read part of their notice.
During this period, motorists heading to the airport are expected to experience traffic disruptions.
Travel Advisory
In the statement, the airline urged travellers to make early arrangements when heading to the airport to avoid delays.
“We therefore encourage all guests travelling between the above-mentioned dates to plan their travel to the airport early to avoid being inconvenienced,” the airline stated.
While assuring customers of continued flight operations, the team emphasised that the advisory is precautionary, intended to minimise the impact of roadworks on travel schedules.
The airline also provided multiple communication channels for passengers seeking clarification, including [email protected], a direct line on +254 711 024 545, and its official social media handle @FlyJambojet.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” the airline added.
KeNHA Announces Traffic Disruption Along Mombasa Road
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) on August 19, issued a public notice announcing the temporary closure of a crucial section of the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway (A8).
The closure will affect the stretch between Makupa Bridge and Changamwe Interchange, effective from Saturday, August 23, 2025, through to Sunday, September 7, 2025.
“This is to allow for road construction and drainage works to ensure seamless road connectivity between Makupa Bridge and Changamwe area,” read part of the KeNHA notice.

During the duration of the road works, motorists are expected to face significant traffic disruptions.
To manage the situation and minimize inconvenience, KeNHA has developed a detailed traffic management plan and urges all drivers to follow the prescribed routes, cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals stationed along the site.
The authority also encourages members of the public to make inquiries or report concerns via email or phone, providing a customer care hotline to assist travelers during the construction period.
