In 2014, she took on a leadership role as treasurer of the national women’s organisation Maendeleo Ya Wanawake, where she has continued to serve, focusing on empowering women and supporting grassroots development.
Her political career advanced when she was nominated to the Senate in August 2022 to represent women’s interests under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
In the 13th Parliament, Senator Syengo has sponsored key legislation, including the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Cotton Industry Development Bill, 2023, which seek to revitalise cotton farming and create economic opportunities.

Beth Syengo hails from Ngomeni in Mwingi North, Kitui County.
