The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast for the period starting October 26 to October 30. Kenya Met published the weather outlook in the wake of chilly conditions being experienced in various parts of the country.
According to the forecast, Kenyans in several parts across the country including Nairobi and its environs should brace themselves for a continued cold season during this period.

Kenya Met in the forecast noted that rainfall is expected in parts of Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County.
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley covers Central Kenya counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi.

Residents in these regions will experience minimum temperatures of up to 06°C and a maximum of 30°C.
According to the weatherman, some parts of this region are expected to experience cloudy conditions breaking into sunny intervals alternating with showers especially in the mornings and afternoons respectively.

Most nights are expected to remain partly cloudy with a chance of showers over few places predicted on Wednesday, October 30.
On the other hand, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are expected to receive heavy rainfall.
This region covers the counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over a few places throughout the period while rain and showers are expected during the mornings and nights respectively.
At the same time, the weather department said that the rest of the country will be generally dry.

Areas within in the southeastern lowlands, which include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta and Tana River Counties are set to experience minimum temperatures of 11°C and 34°C maximum.
According to the Kenya Met, the high temperatures are to be experienced mostly during mornings and afternoons which are expected to be covered by sunny intervals with a limited chance of showers, while the nights will remain partly cloudy.
Parts of Kenya to remain dry
High daytime temperatures of 33°C, on the other hand are expected, in the coastal counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale.

However, morning and afternoon showers alternating with sunny intervals are likely to occur over a few places throughout the period, while most nights will remain partly cloudy. Minimum temperatures of 22°C are expected in these regions.
In Turkana and Samburu Counties, sunny intervals are expected during the day while showers may be received over a few places during the nights.
Kenya Met, at the same time, said that North-eastern Kenya counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties will remain partly dry with maximum temperatures of 39°C.
These regions may receive showers for at least three days in different times of the day.
