The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast for the period between Friday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 11.
In its forecast, Kenya Met stated that most parts of the country will experience predominantly, sunny, dry, and hot weather conditions, followed by possible rainfall in several areas.

These areas include the Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and South Rift Valley, the Coastal Region, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Northwest, and the south coast, particularly from the weekend onward.
The weatherman noted that isolated storms are also expected in these areas during this period, especially over the weekend.

“High temperatures above 30°C are forecasted for most regions, except for some areas in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, where temperatures will stay below 30°C,” Kennya Met warned.
Strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are anticipated in parts of Northwestern and Northeastern Kenya.

Kenya Met Lists Regions to Experience Rains
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, including Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, and Trans Nzoia, are expected to experience showers over several places, particularly during the weekend and in the beginning of the week.
Other counties in these regions, such as Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot, are also likely to experience rainfall.
These areas are also expected to receive heavy rains from Sunday, March 9 to Tuesday, March 12.
Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 34°C while the minimum temperatures will range between 09°C- 11°C.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi, are expected to receive moderate heavy rainfall from the weekend until Tuesday next week.
As per the forecast, the aforementioned counties will experience sunny and hot conditions on Friday but are projected to begin receiving rain from Saturday afternoon.
Night-time temperatures in these areas will range between 7°C and 9°C, while daytime temperatures will be between 29°C and 30°C.
Areas to Remain Dry
Meanwhile, the southeastern lowlands, including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as inland parts of Tana River County, will remain dry.
These counties may experience occasional rainfall in some areas on Monday and Tuesday morning.

The coastal region, comprising Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River, will also remain dry.
Their maximum and minimum temperatures will stay constant at 34°C and 24°C, respectively.
Another region expected to remain dry is the northeastern part of the country, which includes Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties.
Nighttime and daytime temperatures in these counties will remain constant at 19°C and 38°C, respectively.
