The Kingdom of Morocco has condemned in the strongest terms the Iranian missile attack that violated the integrity and security of Arab states on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Morocco said it considers this aggression a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the affected States, an unacceptable infringement on their security, and a direct threat to the stability of the region.
The states include the State of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“The Kingdom of Morocco affirms its full solidarity with the brotherly Arab states in all legitimate measures they take to respond to this attack and protect their security, as well as the peace of their citizens and residents,” said the statement.
Morocco’s stance came after the United States and Israel launched joint attacks against Iran, plunging the entire Middle East into a security crisis.
US-Israel joint attack on Iran
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the joint strikes sought to “remove the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran.”
Netanyahu noted, “Our joint action will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands.”
Morocco severed diplomatic ties with Iran in 2018, accusing Tehran of backing the Polisario Front separatist group.

The Saturday, February 29, attack caused widespread condemnation and air travel disruptions.
In particular, the United Nations condemned “the use of force by the United States and Israel against Iran, and the subsequent retaliation by Iran across the region, which undermines international peace & security.”
According to the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, all Member States must respect their obligations under international law.
The Charter clearly prohibits “the threat of the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations,” read part of the statement.
Guterres added, “I call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and de-escalation. Failing to do so risks a wider regional conflict with grave consequences for civilians and regional stability. I strongly encourage all parties to return immediately to the negotiating table.”
Mixed reactions
Similarly, the Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the Iranian aggression against several Arab states.
In a statement issued by the League’s General Secretariat, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced the attack, describing it as a blatant act of aggression against religious values, as well as against international and humanitarian laws and norms.
French President Emmanuel Macron also expressed concerns, saying France was ready to deploy the necessary resources to protect its closest partners.

“The Iranian regime must understand that it now has no other option but to engage in good faith in negotiations to end its nuclear and ballistic programs, as well as its regional destabilization activities. This is absolutely necessary for the security of all in the Middle East,” affirmed Macron.
In addition, France called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council, with President Macron noting that he was in close contact with our European partners and friends in the Middle East.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, condemned the attacks by Iran against Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
“The Chairperson calls for immediate de-escalation, maximum restraint by all parties, and a swift return to dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path toward sustainable peace and regional stability,” said Youssouf.
