The Russian government has imposed temporary flight restrictions at major airports in Moscow.
The latest decision follows reported drone activity near the capital.
The Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, confirmed that four airports were subject to restrictions for security reasons.
Currently, several Ukrainian drones have been reported to attack Moscow as air defense forces intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the city.
Russia Imposes Flight Restrictions at Major Airports
Rosaviatsia reported that flights at four of Moscow’s busiest airports, Vnukovo International Airport, Domodedovo International Airport, Zhukovsky International Airport, and Sheremetyevo International Airport, were restricted for security reasons.
The government body did not specify how long the precaution measure will last in the capital.

Airport operators also reported delays and diversions as incoming flights were held or redirected.
Later, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced that restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures had been lifted at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo airports.
Restrictions in the capital followed reports from Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Russian media that at least seven drones were intercepted and downed before they could enter the city’s airspace.
Russia Strikes Ukraine with over 1,400 Bombs and Drones
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his statement on February 22, said that Russia launched massive attacks on Ukrainian communities and infrastructure despite calls for a diplomatic resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Zelenskyy, in a statement shared on X, confirmed that Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine with more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs and drones in a single week.
He stated that within the same period, Russia launched over 1,300 attack drones and 96 missiles of various types, including dozens of ballistic missiles.

He stated that the strikes targeted Kyiv and surrounding areas, as well as the Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, and Sumy regions.
Additionally, Zelenskyy confirmed that one person was killed in the Fastiv district and eight others, including a child, were injured.
“Tragically, one person was killed in the Fastiv district. My condolences to the family and loved ones. Eight people were injured, including one child,” said Zelenskyy.
According to his statement, the primary target of the assault was the energy sector, though residential buildings and railway infrastructure also suffered damage.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko reported on the detention of an individual suspected of carrying out the terrorist attack in Lviv.
According to Zelenskyy, the Lviv attack killed one person and left twenty-five people injured.
“Twenty-five people were injured, and one person was killed. My condolences to the family and loved ones,” Zelenskyy’s statement read.
The attack involved explosions triggered during a police response to an emergency call, marking a rare terrorist incident in western Ukraine amid the conflict.
