Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has ruled out any fresh talks with the United States (US) after accusing Washington of breaching a ceasefire agreement from the start of its implementation.
In a series of announcements on April 20, Baghaei said US actions had undermined trust and rendered further negotiations meaningless.
The Iranian Foreign Minister added that the US violated the ceasefire immediately after it came into effect and that Iran had formally informed a Pakistani mediator involved in the process.
He said Tehran had engaged through diplomatic channels but was met with military and political pressure rather than compliance.
Iran Rules Out Fresh Talks With US
Iran also accused the US of imposing a naval blockade and attacking an Iranian ship, actions Tehran described as violations of both the ceasefire agreement and international law.
According to the Foreign Ministry, these steps escalated tensions rather than stabilizing the situation.
Baghaei said Iran could not overlook past US conduct during negotiations, including attacks on Iranian territory, the killing of Iranian citizens, and strikes on infrastructure.

He said such actions had occurred even as talks were ongoing, eroding confidence in Washington’s commitments.
“We cannot forget the US attacks on us during the previous negotiations,” he said.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said a 10-point proposal had been submitted by Tehran and discussed in Islamabad as part of diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
Baghaei said Iran had entered discussions with clear terms and expectations, but the US later shifted its position.
He said the US stated that a ceasefire involving Lebanon was not part of any agreement, despite Iran’s clarification of this point to the Pakistani mediator.
Tehran rejected that position, saying it contradicted earlier understandings.
Baghaei also said the Strait of Hormuz had remained safe before recent US-Israeli actions.
Iran has repeatedly said that foreign military activity in the region has been the main source of instability in key maritime routes.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the US imposed a maritime blockade and carried out an attack on an Iranian vessel, which Iran says violated international law.
Tehran described the incident as a direct breach of commitments made during ceasefire discussions.

Baghaei said the US had violated talks and negotiations on two occasions and accused Washington of failing to respect diplomatic processes.
He said these actions demonstrated a pattern that Iran could no longer ignore.
Iran Issues Warning
In a separate statement, Baghaei said Iran has no plans for a new round of talks with the US.
He said there is no current agenda for negotiations and that Iran does not see value in restarting discussions under existing conditions.
“The Americans are playing the game of blaming Iran. This game is ongoing instead of them playing a positive role,” Baghaei said.
He added that Iran does not expect the US to speak truthfully and said Washington continues to level accusations rather than address its own actions.
Baghaei also said the US is not learning from past experiences and warned that repeating the same approach would not produce different results.
He said Iran’s position is based on observed actions, not rhetoric.
Despite ruling out talks, the Foreign Ministry said Iran remains committed to defending its national interests.
Baghaei said Iran would continue to safeguard its sovereignty and security and issued a warning against further military action.
“If the US and Israel want to start new aggression, our armed forces will respond accordingly,” he said.
