Several US military transport aircraft were observed crossing the Atlantic toward Europe on the overnight of January 24, with many expected to continue onward to the Middle East.
The operation highlights a significant movement of personnel and equipment by the United States.
A flight tracking map from Flightradar24 shows multiple United States Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft in transit.
Key flight details include: RCH847 departed from Wrightstown (WRI), RCH4551 departed from Camp Springs (ADW), RCH455 departed from Killeen (GRK), RCH253 departed from Omaha (OFF), RCH347 departed from Portsmouth (PSM) and RCH820 departed from St. John’s (YYT).
The tracking map showed the aircrafts following transatlantic routes from the eastern United States toward Europe.
Many of the planes were flying along similar paths, suggesting a coordinated movement.
Last year, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, claimed that the United States and possibly its allies were backing Israel’s missile defense systems, warning of potential retaliatory strikes against U.S. targets.
In response, President Donald Trump issued a strong warning, stating that any attack by Iran would be met with “the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces at levels never seen before.”

US Military Increases Transatlantic Flights in Coordinated Airlift
Early January, flight tracking data indicated a notable rise in U.S. as cited by UK Defense Journal.
Air Force strategic airlift operations in the UK. Multiple C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft have arrived at RAF Fairford, while two AC-130 gunships have landed at RAF Mildenhall.
Around ten C-17 flights have been recorded over a short period, most originating from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.
Analysts suggest these movements reflect a redeployment of American special forces into Europe, following recent operations linked to Venezuela.

The exact cause of the recent spike in U.S. aircraft movements in the region remains unclear.
However, the uptick coincides with renewed European attention on President Donald Trump’s remarks about Greenland, which have fueled speculation online and among security experts.
Former British Army officer Ed McGuinness noted on social media that numerous U.S. Special Operations aircraft have transited the UK recently, including planes associated with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, also known as the “Nightstalkers,” raising questions about potential missions in Europe.
“Lots of US Spec Ops aircraft have been transiting the UK in recent days, en route to Europe, including reports of aircraft originating from the 160th Spec Ops Air Regiment aka ‘Nightstalkers’ who supported the raid on Maduro in Venezuela…Another possible action in Europe?” Ed McGuinness.
