CGTN journalist and former KTN journalist Nick Mudimba has passed away.
He died at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on the evening of Sunday, March 23.
A family source indicated that Mudimba had been diagnosed with health complications, including high uric acid levels, the day before his demise.
Colleagues in the media industry and Kenyans across the nation have sent condolence messages to his family.
Currently, his body is being held at a mortuary in Syokimau as his family awaits an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Nick Mudimba Passes Away
Sports journalist Kevin Teya described Mudimba as one of the kindest individuals he had ever met in the sports world. “He had a warm and welcoming personality. You’ve gone too soon, kijana wa Busia. Rest in peace,” Teya expressed.
Citizen TV reporter Seth Olale remembered their last collaboration during the AUC elections, despite being from different media houses.
“Oh no! We were together, cracking jokes at the AU Media Center in Addis Ababa. You assisted me in installing the latest Audio Sound Booth Recorder on my laptop. Rest in peace, my brother Nick Mudimba,” Olale recalled.

Former BBC journalist Ferdinand Omondi reflected on Mudimba’s character, stating that he was one of the kindest souls he had ever met and always ready for a good laugh.
“I am gutted to learn about the death of my friend and counterpart Nick Mudimba. Rest in peace, bro,” Omondi said.
NTV Swahili news anchor Lofty Matambo, a former colleague at KTN, also paid tribute: “RIP kaka Nick Mudimba (former KTN and Switch TV news anchor), you were so full of life until your death this evening. Kweli haya maisha ni mafupi sana,” Matambo remarked.
KBC Journalist Dies
Before his passing, Mudimba had a distinguished career in journalism. He worked for several notable media houses, including Switch TV and Standard Group Media, where he served as a sports news anchor for KTN.
Mudimba’s death cme just days after the media industry lost another journalist, Fredrick Parsayo, who worked for Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

Parsayo passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his home in Kinoo.
Before his demise, he was serving as a reporter in the editorial department. According to KBC, investigations have been launched to establish the cause of his death.
