Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has appointed and re-appointed members to the councils of Alupe University, Tom Mboya University, and Kisumu National Polytechnic.
In a gazette notice dated November 7, Ogamba has appointed Dr. Charles Momanyi and Irene Chebet Chesire as members of the Alupe University Council.
The appointments will run for a period of three years, effective November 7, 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) of the Universities Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints—under paragraph (d)—Charles Momanyi (Dr) and Irene Chebet Chesire to be Members of the Council of Alupe University for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th November, 2025,” reads the Gazette notice.
Additionally, Leonard Kinyulusi, Mohamed Ali Dahir, and Joseph Vincent Oyile were also re-appointed to continue serving as members of the university council.
Their tenure will last for a three-year term, effective November 7, 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) of the Universities Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education re-appoints—under paragraph (a)—Virginia Kimani (Dr) as Chairperson and under paragraph (d)—Leonard Kinyulusi, Mohamed Ali H. Dahir, and Joseph Vincent M. Oyile as Members of the Council of the Alupe University, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th November, 2025,” reads the Gazette notice.

Ogamba Re-Appoints Council Members At Tom Mboya University
At Tom Mboya University, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius has appointed Dorcas Mugambi and Noor Dahir Yusuf as members of the university council for a period of three years, effective November 7, 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36(1) of the Universities Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints Dorcas Mugambi and Noor Dahir Yusuf to be members of the Council of Tom Mboya University, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th November, 2025,” the gazette notice reads.
Additionally, Augusta N. Abate was re-appointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson, while Lily C. Koech was re-appointed as a council member for another three-year term.

Kisumu National Polytechnic
Kisumu National Polytechnic, Education CS Ogamba has appointed Judah Ochieng Abekah as the Chairperson of the Polytechnic Council, alongside Ismael Noo, Ruth Mounde, Dancun Odhiambo Oginga, and Meissy Naeku Janet as Members of the council.
Their appointments will run for a period of three years, effective November 7, 2025.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(1) of the Kisumu National Polytechnic Order, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints Judah Ochieng Abekah (Eng.) as Chairperson, and Ismael Noo, Ruth Mounde, Dancun Odhiambo Oginga, and Meissy Naeku Janet as Members of the Kisumu National Polytechnic Council, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th November, 2025,” reads the gazette notice.
Additionally, Eng. Benedette Waswa Sabuni has been re-appointed as a member of the council for another three-year term, effective the same date.
