Veteran Journalist Emmanuel Juma, who was popular for his weekly segment on NTV, Bulls Eye, has joined the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs as the Head of Communication.
MFA Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua made the announcement on Wednesday, August 16, lauding Emmanuel Juma’s enviable portfolio in the media.
”I have today welcomed renowned journalist and editor/producer Mr. Emmanuel Juma as the Ministry’s Head of Communication,” Dr Mutua announced in a statement.
According to Mutua, Juma’s experience in the media industry allows him to bring more insights and creativity to help the ministry operate effectively.

”Mr. Juma brings a wealth of experience in all Media areas and has the personality, creativity, and drive to enable the Ministry to communicate its Foreign and Diaspora positions more effectively,’ Dr. Mutua added.
According to the CS, Juma’s arrival is part of a major revamp of the Ministry’s overall operations especially in the communication department.
Emmanuel Juma Background
Emmanuel Juma is an experienced journalist having kicked off his career at the national broadcaster, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation – KBC.
He later moved to Standard Media Group where he worked for KTN as a reporter.
In 2005, Emmanuel Juma moved to NTV under the Nation Media Group where he worked as a reporter and rose through the ranks to become the Head of News.
He left NMG in 2018 following mass layoffs.
Ministry Changes
CS Mutua also stated that the Ministry will be holding regular press conferences starting from September to brief the country on Foreign and Diaspora matters.
”To start with, the Ministry under my leadership will hold regular Press Conferences starting from September to brief the Nation on Foreign and Diaspora matters,” said Mutua.

“The media sessions, to be dubbed The Foreign Brief, will be presided over either by myself or in my absence, by either of the Ministry’s two Principal Secretaries,’ added CS Mutua.
