Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly has called out several high-profile Trump supporters, accusing them of steering President Donald Trump into a deepening conflict with Iran that she says risks American lives and the future of the MAGA movement.
On her SiriusXM show on Friday, March 27, the independent host named names and demanded accountability for those she believes talked the president into military action that has already claimed at least 13 U.S. service members.
Kelly singled out Sen. Lindsey Graham, radio host Mark Levin, commentator Ben Shapiro, and others as key voices pushing for escalation.
“As this thing goes south, we need to know exactly who talked him into it and what representations were made,” Kelly said.
She argued the conflict feels more like Israel’s fight than America’s core interest, warning that sending thousands of troops could fracture the coalition Trump built and hand Democrats wins for years to come.
Kelly saved some of her sharpest words for Graham, blasting the South Carolina senator for suggesting U.S. Marines could seize Iran’s Kharg Island, comparing it to the Battle of Iwo Jima. It is the public domain that nearly 7,000 Americans died there, with thousands more wounded.
“How dare he speak about it so cavalierly?” Kelly asked. She called Graham a “villain” in the story and accused him of treating the human cost too lightly.

She also pointed to Levin and Shapiro for what she described as daily advocacy on their platforms. Kelly said some of the pro-strike talk sounded like it was “frothing at the mouth.”
Miriam Adelson and other Fox News contributors got mentioned, too. The former Fox anchor even took shots at her old network’s coverage, calling it overly deferential and “insufferable.”
This isn’t Kelly’s first round of criticism. She’s been skeptical from the start, questioning shifting explanations from the administration and pointing to American casualties.
“No one should have to die for a foreign country,” she said in one segment. She has drawn a line between supporting Trump personally, he’s in control and clearly wants to end the war, she noted, and refusing to cheerlead for deeper involvement.
Her stance has lit up conservative circles, with Ben Shapiro pushing back hard, labeling Kelly “wildly inconsistent” and a “coward.”
Former colleague Elisabeth Hasselbeck accused her of undermining troops by suggesting some died more for Israel than the U.S.
Mark Levin has traded barbs with her in recent days, including this very weekend, keeping the feud alive on air and online.
Cracks in Trump’s media base.
On one side sit non-interventionist commentators like Kelly and Tucker Carlson, who worry about mission creep, political damage ahead of the midterms, and the risk of repeating past mistakes.
On Thursday, March 26, Carlson dropped another segment on the Iran war, in which he described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a man who ”forced” the U.S. into the war. According to him, the U.S. Forces are literally fighting for Israel.
Kelly has openly thought about her own time at Fox during the Iraq War, saying she won’t make the same error of uncritical support.
On the other hand are hawks who see the strikes as necessary to neutralize Iran’s threats, including nuclear ambitions and attacks on U.S. interests.
They credit Trump with decisive leadership and argue the action protects American security in the long run. Some polls show the divide splitting Republican voters along factional lines.

Kelly has praised Trump for trying to wrap things up and take command of the messaging, even as she criticized the ambiguous signals coming from the White House.
She urged a clear declaration of success and an exit strategy before things get worse, adding that any war failure means Democrats are going to win the coming elections so easily.
“We cannot send five to 17,000 troops into Iran and ever win a Republican election again for the next 10 to 20 years,” she warned.
Kelly’s independence since leaving Fox has given her room to speak freely, as The Hill has highlighted. She said she won’t let herself be used by any administration to influence the narrative.
Sbe insists that “America First” is about putting U.S. troops and voters first, not getting dragged into endless foreign fights.
Meanwhile, the situation in Iran is still fluid, with reports of continuing conflict, Houthi involvement, and challenges in securing help from allies to protect key waterways like the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump has repeatedly expressed frustration that NATO and others aren’t stepping up as hoped.
