High Court Judge Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola is Dead. Siaya County Governor James Orengo announced the passing of the judge on Wednesday, July 17.
Additionally, Orengo stated that Justice Ogola had been serving as the presiding judge at Siaya high Court.
He celebrated him for being an intent listener and a man with few words who brought clarity in the courtroom.
The lifeless body of the high-profile judge was discovered at his home in Siaya County.

“I join the entire judiciary in mourning the tragic death of Hon. Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola who was the presiding Judge at Siaya High Court.
“Justice Ogembo had a marvellous ability to listen intently, reflect quietly and then interject, usually with a brief few words that brought clarity in the courtroom. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the statement read in part.
Police officers have since launched investigations into the cause of death of the judge.

High Court Judge David Majanja Funeral
The announcement came while members of the Judicial Service Commision and the lager legal fraternity were at the funeral of the late high court Judge David Majanja.
Majanja passed away on June 11, following a successful surgery. Chief Justice Martha Koome eulogized him as a “towering figure in the development of our transformative post-2010 jurisprudence and a crucial pillar in the institution-building of the JSC and the Judiciary.”
“On behalf of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service Commission, it is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Hon. Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, Judge of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission. We are all heartbroken,” said CJ Koome.
The late David Majanja was appointed Judge of the High Court in 2011. Upon his appointment, he served at Homa Bay, Migori, Kisumu and Kisii High Courts.
In addition, Majanja served at the Commercial and Tax Divisions and Milimani High Court Civil Division.

Magistrate Dies Inside Courtroom
In a separate incident, Makadara Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti died after being shot by a police officer inside a courtroom.
Kivuti succumbed to injuries sustained after she was shot by Londiani OCS Inspector Samson Kipruto in the chest and left hip during a live court session.
In a statement, Chief Justice Martha Koome confirmed the demise of Kivuti, sending her condolence to the family and loved ones of the magistrate.
Consequently. she said that the Judiciary Leadership Team had convened an emergency meeting over the matter.
“I wish to confirm to the Nation that Hon. Monica Kivuti, Principal Magistrate, Makadara Law Courts has lost the fight against the extensive injuries sustained during an open gun attack in Court.
