Autopsy Report Reveals How Rita Waeni Was Murdered

"This is the first time I have come across such a thing. I have never in my forensic life, come across such an incident."

An autopsy report by government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor has revealed details of how Rita Waeni, a 20-year-old student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) was murdered.

While speaking to the press, Oduor divulged that the person who murdered Waeni attempted to remove her fingernails.

According to the pathologists, such occurrences happen when the perpetrator is trying to hide any DNA evidence.

He also indicated that someone dismembered her body parts adding that the head was missing.

“She looked like she was someone who had lost some significant amount of blood, but this could have been after death. The other thing we also noticed is that the person who did this also tried to clip off the fingernails for reasons I may not be able to know.

“When we see fingernails clipped away, we see that the person was trying to hide evidence so that we are unable to get his DNA from this victim,” he stated.

Further, the pathologist noted that the killer was aware of what he was doing explaining that the skin was cut with a sharp object.

Also, he noted that Waeni’s bones may have been sowed off using an axe sow.

“It looks like the killer knew what they were doing because when you look at the skin.

“It looked like it was cut with a sharp object and when you look at the bone, it was sowed off with what looked like an axe sow,” he explained.

However, he stated that there was a possibility of finding DNA evidence of the killer because Waeni may have fought for her life.

“When someone is killed, normally the person tried fighting back so we might get some DNA of the person.

“We have taken samples which are going to be taken to the analyst which will help the police to further apprehend the person,” Stated Oduor.

The pathologist expressed his shock noting that it was his first time coming across such a case.

“This is the first time I have come across such a thing. I have never in my forensic life, come across such an incident,” he stated.
