A Section of the Kenyan Parliament in Nairobi has been set on fire after protestors occupied Parliament Buildings.
The angry Kenyan youth stormed inside the Parliament building after lawmakers had just passed a contentious bill that would introduce a raft of new taxes.
The protesters successfully breached the security protocols at the Parliament, after overpowering the anti-riot Police Officers.
In the videos seen by The Kenya Times, smoke was seen rising from part of the Parliament buildings that houses the committee meetings.
Voices of “wasaliti, wasaliti (betrayers, betrayers)” rent the air as the protesters set a police lorry on fire.
Additionally, they managed to damage part of the Parliament fence.
The protestors were also able to reach the Parliament Kitchen, a location within the building and could be seen eating food prepared.
Inside the Senate are scenes of destruction, as furniture is in disarray, seats strewn around, cupboards ransacked, flags torn, and windows broken.
