Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has revealed the trait he shares with former President Uhuru Kenyatta after his impeachment.
Speaking on Sunday, November 17, Gachagua said he is no longer blamed for the failures of the government.
Attending a Church service in Kajiado, Gachagua said he is also following government events on the media just like Uhuru.
He explained that he is not stressed and the people who are managing the day-to-day operations of the government should now be answerable.
“I am not stressed; I am very relaxed. There is nobody who is blaming me for the failures of the government. Let others provide answers,” he said.
“President Uhuru said he is watching and listening to the radio even me I am doing the same.”
He stated that the current leaders should take the blame but respect others in the process.
Gachagua said President William Ruto and Kenya Kwanza should lower taxes if he was indeed the problem.
“Let us wait and see how things progress. If Gachagua was the problem causing you to increase taxes, why can’t you reduce them now?” he asked.
The former DP said he directed his supporters to remain silent after the impeachment.
He added that the majority of his followers are businesspeople and could have been affected by the demonstrations.
“I will be stupid leader to ask my supporters to destroy property which is theirs. I told them to be silent,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua Defends Bishops
Gachagua also defended the Catholic Bishops against criticism after their comments about the government.
ADVERT
He recalled the incidents that happened during the previous regimes where the government abused spiritual leaders.
“The pride that leaders have right is like the one politician had during the reign of President Daniel Moi. They abused spiritual leaders and talked to them as they pleased and we all know what the consequences were,” Gachagua said.
He said history could easily repeat itself if leaders don’t stop abusing spiritual leaders.
“Let us be humble and allow spiritual leaders to chastise us in love, correct us where we are wrong, and accord them respect,” he said.
