Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed the meeting that led to his fallout with President William Ruto.
While speaking on Sunday, November 24, Gachagua said that he was standing up for the people and giving his opinion to the president over the Adani Deal.
According to him, he warned Ruto against the Adani Group- JKIA deal, but the head of state accused him of failing to support government initiatives.
“I speak for the people. The issue of the Adani deal among others was the reason the president and I fell out.
“I told Ruto that the Adani deal was shady and it was auctioning the country. I told him that the people did not want it and he hated me,” he said.

Additionally, Gachagua revealed that many of the cabinet members allow the president to pass into law initiatives that hurt Kenyans because they are scared of correcting him.
To confirm his allegations, he has referenced the reactions of lawmakers after Ruto cancelled Adani deals with Kenya, saying that even the ones who had supported it changed their tune to support Ruto.
“In the cabinet, I was the only one who had the guts to tell the president the truth. All the others are scared.
“Even the ministers would tell me the things they were opposing so that I could pass it on to the president.

“The procuring agencies within the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum immediately cancel the ongoing procurement process for the JKIA Expansion Public Private Partnership transaction,
“As well as the recently concluded KETRACO transmission line Public Private Partnership contract, and immediately commence the process of onboarding alternative partners,” said Ruto.
