Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken a day before a three-judge bench led by Justice Eric Ogola delivers a ruling on whether or not to lift the conservatory order barring DP nominee Kithure Kindiki from being sworn in.
While attending the burial service of his longtime friend, Mwalimu Geoffrey Murugami Kimani (HSC), in Limuru on Wednesday October 30, Gachagua stated that he has trust in the Judiciary and believes that justice will be served.
At the same time, he urged the people of Mt Kenya region to maintain peace and engage with people from other region amid ongoing case in court.
“We don’t hold any grudge on anyone. We have trust that our Judiciary will protect and uphold the constitution of Kenya and will exercise fairness and give justice to Rigathi Gachagua and his supporters,” he said.
“But I want to ask for peace moreso to our people. Love one another, stay well with all regions and other communities. We only have one Kenya. Let our people remain peaceful and build our country.”
The ousted DP mentioned that people can attack him, but they should leave some of the work he has done such as empowering the boychild and fightimg illicit brew.
“You may push Gachagua around but let the work that his has done for two years to empower the boy child remain,” he said.
“I worked hard to eradicate illicit brew, but since they started bothering me, it has returned. Those in government, chiefs, and sub-chiefs should not allow this brew to come back and harm our people.”

Gachagua also revealed the list of politicians from the Central region who refused to be bribed during his impeachment process and lauded them for standing with him.
He went on to dismiss claims that he has not support from the region because the country has not witnessed any protest against his ouster.
“The people of Kiambu made the right decision by electing Karung’o as their senator; he can never be bribed. Pray for him, Gathoni Wamuchomba, and George Koimburi,” said Gachagua.
“Some people are saying Gachagua has no followers in Mt. Kenya, his people are not on the streets doing protests. We are not those people. There are days we do what matters and Mt Kenya people know which day that is.”
