Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced 600 jobs for boda boda riders and 500 nannies in Dubai.
In a statement on Thursday, December 5, the CS stated that officials from a United Arab Emirates company would be in Kenya the following week to interview and hire the motorcycle riders.
Further, the notice indicated that for 26 working days a month, the riders will receive a salary of 2,925 dirhams (approximately 104,000 Kenyan shillings, tax-free).
𝐐ualifications for the 600 Riders
Candidates will be required to have a valid Kenyan passport or proof of an eCitizen application in progress.
Additionally, they ought to have a current Certificate of Good Conduct or proof of an eCitizen application in progress and a valid rider’s license
However, experience is not a mandatory requirement although it is an added advantage.
“Bodaboda riders are highly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will undergo four months of training in Dubai, during which the company will assist them in obtaining UAE riding licenses,” stated the notice.

What You Will Get and Requirements for the Jobs
For every delivery trip, riders will be earning 7.5 dirhams (Ksh263), having a daily minimum average of 15 trips.
However, riders with initiative can make upwards of 30 deliveries per day, increasing their earnings.
The hiring company will provide free accommodation, a work motorcycle which is also maintained by the company, comprehensive medical care and a work visa.
On the flip side, the company will not cover pre-arrival costs. They include:
1. Payment to HR provider in Dubai: 2,200 dirhams = Ksh81,400
2. Airfare: Ksh40,000
3. Medical fee: Kshs. 16,500 (non-refundable, to be paid upfront)
4. Processing fees (visa, paperwork, etc.) Ksh30,000
Total: Ksh167,900
“Banks are aligned to offer loans to cover these costs, allowing employees to repay once they begin working in Dubai.
“The medical fee is paid first, and the remaining costs can be settled after passing the medicals. This ensures no unnecessary losses,” added the notice.

Details of the Interviews
The interviews will take place in Nairobi and Malindi.
The Nairobi interview will take place on December 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2024, at Kamukunji TVC, next to Kamukunji Primary, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
On the other hand, the Malindi interviews will take place on December 13th and 14th, 2024, at Kilifi North TVC, Watamu Town, next to Watamu Primary, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Jobs for 500 Nannies
Additionally, a Saudi Arabian Human Resource team is in Kenya to employ 500 female Nannies for their company.
Interested applicants require a certificate, diploma, or degree in any field, at least 1 year of experience in childcare and be able to assist children with mobility and ensure their overall welfare.
Also, they will provide support with feeding and bathing as needed, supervise and assist children with homework tasks and Introduce and help children develop English language skills.
The role is entirely child-focused, with no housemaid responsibilities included.
The monthly salary ranges from 1,200 to 1,500 Riyals (approximately Kshs. 41,000 to 52,000) and is tax-free. Employees will receive free accommodation and three meals a day.
Free transport to and from work is also provided, along with full medical care. In case of dissatisfaction with the assigned family, reassignment to another family will be arranged.
The medical fee is Ksh13,500 and is non-refundable. The company will cover all pre-arrival expenses, including visas and tickets.
Requirements and Interview Details
Location: The Nairobi National Polytechnic, Mogira Road (opposite Pangani Police Station), Nairobi.
Date: December 6th, 2024.
Time: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Travel: Successful applicants should be prepared to travel to Saudi Arabia before the end of the year or early next year.
Candidates must be clean, well-dressed, smart, and articulate with excellent English communication skills, possess a valid Kenyan passport or have an active eCitizen application in progress.
They should hold a current Certificate of Good Conduct or provide proof of an ongoing eCitizen application, and submit a detailed CV and a recommendation letter.
Additional certifications, such as First Aid, will be a significant advantage.
