Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced the dates for Kenyans who applied for jobs in Qatar to pick up their offer letters and attend training.
In a statement on Friday, November 29, Mutua confirmed that the processing of documents and contracts for candidates hired during the Qatar recruitment drive is progressing smoothly, with departures approaching.
At the same time, Mutua noted that the pre-departure orientation and training for successful candidates who have already signed their offer letters will take place tomorrow, Saturday November 30.
The venue is set at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC)Nairobi, starting at 8:00 am.
“All relevant candidates have been notified,” CS Alfred Mutua said.

Candidates who had not signed their offer letters were urged to go to the notified location on Monday, December 2, to complete the process.
“If you have passed and been called but have not yet signed your offer letter, please come on Monday to the notified location between 9 AM – 5 PM,” the statement read further.

Mutua emphasized that applicants who have not yet signed their offer letters should not attend the training at KICC.
“Do not attend the pre-departure training tomorrow if you haven’t signed your offer letter. Your training will be scheduled after signing and completing the necessary medicals,” Mutua noted.
The CS also mentioned that applicants who have not received a call yet are still waiting for their offer letters, which are currently being processed.
“If you haven’t been notified to come and sign your offer letter, it means your letter is still being processed in Qatar. You will be contacted as soon as it is ready,” Mutua added.
Candidates Without Contact Information
Meanwhile, the CS shared a list of 70 candidates who had passed the application process but had not shared their contact information. He noted that their offer letters are already ready for signing.
These individuals were instructed to go to KICC on Monday, December 2, to sign their offer letters and begin the travel processing.
“Are you one of these? (Attached list) Your contact is missing, and your job offer letter is ready for signing,” Mutua said.
“Please come to KICC on Monday to sign your offer letter and to be processed for traveling.”

The list posted comprised of applicants who had applied for the roles of light duty driver, heavy duty driver, forklift operator, excavator operator, electrician, heavy equipment operator, excavator operator, and tower crane operator.
The Cs also held an interactive meeting with private recruitment agencies that partnered with the Ministry during the first phase of the National Job Recruitment Program.

The meeting he said provided an opportunity to reflect on the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from their efforts to deliver meaningful opportunities to Kenyans.
“First and foremost, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the agencies that demonstrated commitment by being present on the ground throughout the recruitment process,’ he said.
“Your dedication to this national initiative is commendable, and your ability to deliver on your mandate has been duly noted. As we look forward to the next phase of this program, it is essential for us to align our efforts and streamline our processes.”
To this end, the CS outlined the following action points and expectations:

1. Agencies must submit job templates, detailing available opportunities
2. Provide cost breakdowns for deploying candidates overseas
3. Prioritize immediate opportunities to place job seekers quickly
4. Clear pending cases by next week, with all identified candidates contacted by Monday
5. Upload demand letters and updated candidate lists to the NEA system by close of business today
6. We’ll streamline pre-departure processes, including issuing certificates of good conduct to applicants
