The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has assured that it will provide two revision opportunities for candidates who will not have secured their selected courses after the lapse of the first window.
In a statement on Sunday, February 25, KUCCPS noted that the revision windows would also be open for candidates who will not have applied in the first window.
The two windows, according to the service, will ensure that all students secure their slots in light of the challenges experienced in the process.
“After the first placement exercise, there will be two revision opportunities that will be provided for students who will not have applied, or those who will not have secured their selected courses, to reapply,” KUCCPS announced.
“KUCCPS is working closely with relevant stakeholders in Government to ensure that all applicants are enabled to submit their choices in the spirit of leaving no student behind.”
In its statement, the placement service also announced the extension of the application window with no specific date set as the deadline, noting that the window would run until it is satisfied “that all targeted students have applied”.
KUCCPS acknowledged delays in the application process and attributed the challenges to the current system requiring applicants to remit their payments through eCitizen.

However, CEO Agnes Wahome asked applicants to avoid double payments.
“Since payments for Government services have been migrated to the eCitizen platform, the process of payment validation for the KUCCPS application is longer than before,” KUCCPS added.
“Applicants are advised to avoid making double payments.”

In the statement, CEO Wahome assured that processing of the various applications would start after confirmation that all applicants have submitted their course choices based on the targeted number of students.
KUCCPS first opened its portal on February 7 to end the wait for candidates who sat the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam.
In its announcement, the service indicated that the window would be open for not only the year’s candidates but also for form four leavers of between 2001 onwards.
The students would have the liberty to choose their programs of choice in Kenyan institutions from degrees to diplomas and certificates among other programs.
However, the process has been rocked with complaints of slow progress, which has prompted KUCCPS to extend the deadline twice now. The last deadline was set on Monday, February 26, but it has now been revised according to the latest update from the body mandated to place learners in institutions of higher learning.
