The Keysian Auctioneers has announced the public auction of properties belonging to one Sahara Yassin Sheikh. In a notice dated September 30, the Auctioneer said it had been instructed to auction the items after Yassin failed to pay rent.
“Pursuant to the Rent Distress Act (Cap 293) and under instructions from our principals, we shall sell by public auction the undermentioned goods,” the notice read in part.
The items include a dining table with four dining chairs, a coffee table, a plastic chair, a two-door fridge, one microwave, and a seven-seater sofa set.
Conditions for sale include cash at the fall of the hammer, while viewing can be done any day of the week with prior arrangements.
The auction will be conducted on Tuesday, October 1, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Leakey’s Storage Limited, Lunga Lunga Road, Viwandani-Nairobi.
Motor Vehicles & General Stores Public Auction
The Antique Auctions has also announced the public auction of British Army (Batuk) and Diplomatic vehicles on October 3, 2024.
Vehicles under auction include Land Rovers (Wolf, 90 & 110 Series), 2-man trucks, 4 Toyota Prados, 3 Pinz 6×6 trucks, 3 quad bike trailers, 2 Phoenix recovery trailers, 4 hard-top Toyota Land Cruisers, 1 Nissan Hardbody double cab, and 1 Isuzu FVR 4×2 10T truck.
The auctioneer also announced the sale of general stores and household furniture, including assorted kitchen utensils, table lamps, curtains, computers, electric cookers, washing machines, dryers, and microwaves.

Bid has also been invited for dining tables and chairs, sofa tables, end tables, coffee tables, wine tables, desks, cabinets, bookcases, garden furniture, sofa sets, occasional chairs, carpets & hoovers, and a large number of used tires.
Other items include a Cummins 650 KVA generator, 2 FG Wilson generators (14 KVA), and 1 Caterpillar (14 KVA) generator.
The items can be viewed at Alpha Centre, Godown No. 81, 42 & 37, off Mombasa Road near City Cabanas, located along Mombasa Road on your way to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport (JKIA).
A deposit should strictly be a banker’s cheque of Ksh50,000.00 for furniture, Ksh100,000.00 for generators, and Ksh500,000.00 per vehicle, or a combination of Ksh650,000 to bid in all categories.
The deposit is refundable for non-successful bidders, and the banker’s cheque should be in the name of Antique Auctions Ltd Client’s Account.
Viewing can be done on Monday, September 30, Tuesday, October 1, and Wednesday, October 2, 2024, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

CBK Weekly Report
In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) said concerns about inflation continue to ease in advanced economies.
According to the Interim Report on OECD Economic Outlook, September 2024, global growth is projected to stabilize at 3.1 percent in 2024 and 3.2 percent in 2025, with advanced economies following a similar trend at 3.4 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively.
CBK said the Kenya Shilling remained stable against major international and regional currencies during the week ending September 26.
It exchanged at Ksh129.19 per US dollar on September 26, compared to Ksh129.20 per US dollar on September 19. Besides, the Treasury bill auction of September 26 received bids totaling Ksh20.9 billion against an advertised amount of Ksh24.0 billion, representing a performance of 87.2 percent.
KNBS August Inflation Rates
The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) August report showed that the overall annual inflation rate as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 4.4 percent, in August 2024.
This was a slight increase from an inflation rate of 4.3 percent recorded in July 2024.
The annual inflation was mainly due to an increase in prices of commodities under the following Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP) divisions in the last 12 months (August 2023-August 2024).
Transport Index increased by 3.9 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other Fuels Index increased by 4.2 percent while food and non-alcoholic beverages index increased by 5.3 percent.
