The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has announced a public auction of unserviceable and obsolete motor vehicles and stores.
In a notice, the State Department for Wildlife said the sale which will take place in collaboration with Speedman Commercial Agencies Limited, is set for July 4, 2024, at the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) offices in Nairobi.
Interested bidders are invited to view the items at the specified locations from the date of this announcement until the auction date during normal working hours.
However, the Ministry has clarified that details of the items are not warranted by either the State Department for Wildlife or the auctioneer.
The auction will commence at 10:00 a.m. on the designated date.

How to Bid
To participate, bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Ksh.10,000 per lot to obtain a bidding number.
However, this deposit must be paid in cash at the State Department for Wildlife cash office located at the NSSF Building, Block A, 15th Floor.
Winning bidders must pay 25% of the purchase price immediately in cash, with the remaining balance due within seven days of the auction.
Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of the initial deposit, and the item will be offered to the second highest bidder.
Terms of the Public Auction from Ministry
Additionally, all purchased lots must be collected within seven days, or a storage fee of Ksh.1,000 per day will be charged.
Bids are subject to a reasonable reserve price, and any taxes or charges incurred during the transfer of ownership will be the responsibility of the purchaser.
Catalogues, necessary for participation in the auction, are available for a non-refundable fee of Ksh.1,000 from Speedman Commercial Agencies Limited, located at NACICO Chambers, 3rd Floor, Moi Avenue, Nairobi.

Ministry of Labour and Social Protection Public Auction
On the Other hand, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, is set to dispose of its unserviceable motor vehicles.
This initiative, detailed under Tender Reference No. ML&SP/SP/ADMIN/02/2023-2024, invites eligible bidders to participate in the purchase of these vehicles.
The bidding process will follow National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures, in line with Regulation 183 (1-2) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations, 2020.

This opportunity is open to all eligible bidders as defined by the procurement regulations.

Bids must be submitted to the address below by 11 a.m. on June 24, 2024.
They should be placed in the tender box located at the entry of the procurement offices on the 14th floor, marked “State Department for Social Protection – Tender Box.”
Electronic bidding is not permitted, and late bids will be rejected.
Bids will be publicly opened at 11 a.m. on June 24, 2024, in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and any other interested parties at the same address.
