Old Mutual Holdings has announced the appointment of Joyce Ann Wainaina and Craig Aitchison as the company’s non- executive director with effective from March 15, 2024.
In a statement seen by The Kenya Times, the company congratulated the two on their new positions.
“We take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome Joyce Ann and Craig to the board and look forward to their valuable contribution,” read the statement in part.
The financial company further announced the resignation of former non-executive director.
“The board of directors hereby announces the resignation of Shailesh Devchacnd as a non-executive director on the board with effect 15th March 2024,” read the statement.
Shailesh joined the board on 13th November 2019 and during his term, made valuable contributions to the company,”

With over 30 years’ experience, she honed her skills at Citibank, where she held various senior positions across Africa.

Transitioning from her corporate roles, Joyce Ann has been deeply involved in talent development initiatives across Africa.
Notably, she spearheaded the Sapphire Leadership Programe at Citibank, aimed at nurturing senior talent across emerging markets.
Her commitment to empowering women in the banking industry led to the establishment of mentorship programs in collaboration with key institutions like the Kenya Bankers Association and the Central Bank of Kenya.
Currently, Joyce Ann’s influence extends beyond the corporate realm as she serves as a director at Bawan Limited and the founding Trustee of the Warjul Education Trust, demonstrating her dedication to broader societal impact.

With academic credentials including an MSc in Financial Economics from the University of London and a BSc in Finance from Duquesne University, Joyce Ann continues to contribute as a Senior Fellow at the Jackson School for Global Affairs, Yale University.
Craig Aitchison
Craig Aitchison also received his appointment pending approval by the Insurance Regulatory Authority.
Craig brings with him a wealth of experience spanning 25 years in the financial services industry, with a strong emphasis on customer outcomes and enhancing customer experiences.
Currently serving as the Executive Head of Customer at Did Mutual Limited, Craig is tasked with delivering exceptional customer experiences and overseeing customer engagement and market conduct functions.
His previous roles include leadership positions at Old Mutual, where he demonstrated his expertise in operations, service delivery, and managerial oversight.
Craig’s holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Witwatersrand.
He also holds the esteemed title of Fellow of the Actuarial Society, underscoring his expertise in the field.
Additionally, he serves as a director on the Old Mutual Alternative Solutions Board, further solidifying his influence in the industry.
