Following several Safaricom M-PESA app users who have voiced their frustrations with the platform, including difficulty viewing recent transactions, Safaricom has shared steps to fix the glitch.
From surfacing X posts, Kenyans have complained about the inability to access their transaction history, sharing screenshots of the feedback in their attempts to fetch previous statements.
In a shared screengrab as seen by the Kenya Times, an M-Pesa App user trying to get his details received an error notification indicating ‘ERROR TRYING TO FETCH THE LATEST TRANSACTIONS’.
“That M-Pesa app has problems. Recently, I ain’t been able to view my recent transactions for a month now. I don’t know if they themselves test those apps. For the other MySafaricom app, you can’t install it before allowing notifications then later you get Masoko notifications daily,” shared @beekode, a frustrated client in his Xpost.
In response, Safaricom PLC acknowledged the issues, apologised to the client and advised affected users on how to fix the stated glitches.
“Hi Beekode, apologies for the experience,” it wrote.

Some users suggested that the app may have deliberately made sending money more time-consuming, potentially to encourage greater use of the app’s pop-up ads as a source of additional revenue.
“I was wondering whether these new M-Pesa features went through user testing and feedback before they were approved. It is now emerging that @SafaricomPLC may have deliberately introduced a long & frustrating process for sending money to encourage people to use the M-Pesa App, which contains pop-up ads as a way of generating extra revenue,” said @georgediano.
Others also raised concerns about the MySafaricom App, noting that it cannot be installed without enabling notifications, which subsequently results in daily Masoko notifications.
“MySafaricom app, you can’t install it before allowing notificationsthen later you get Masoko notifications daily,” @beekode shared.
