The Kiambu County Government has announced mass vacancies and invited qualified Kenyans to apply.
In a notice issued by the County Public Service Board on October 3, 2025, the county invited applications for 77 vacant specialist roles under the Department of Health Services.
The appointments will be on a contract basis and fall under a senior job group within the county government structure.
The new vacancies, which fall under Job Group CPSB 04 on a contract basis, offer competitive monthly salaries with a monthly salary ranging from approximately Ksh102,860 to Ksh137,070, depending on qualifications and experience.
“Pursuant to the provisions of the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012 Section 45 (1), the County Public Service Board wishes to recruit Medical Specialists I (Job Group ‘Q’) under the department of Health Services as below listed,” the notice reads.

Kiambu County vacancies
Successful candidates will be responsible for general diagnosis, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients, as well as clinical services, surgical operations, forensic and medico-legal services, disease surveillance, and health research, among others:

Requirements for appointment
Applicants must:
- Have served as Assistant Director, Medical Services / Medical Specialist II for at least three years.
- Possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
- Hold a specialist diploma or master’s degree in relevant fields such as General Surgery, Psychiatry, Radiology, Paediatrics, etc.
- Be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Evidence in attendance of a management programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks will be considered an added advantage
- A certificate in strategic leadership or skills will be an added advantage
How to apply
All applicants should submit their applications, cover letter together with copies of their detailed curriculum vitae with names, address, and telephone contacts of three referees; academic and professional certificates, testimonials, national identity card or passport, and any other supporting documents.

They must also obtain clearance from relevant agencies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
Applications must be hand-delivered in clearly marked and sealed envelopes to the County Public Service Board offices in Thika, on or before Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The applications should be addressed to: Secretary/CEO, County Public Service Board, County Government of Kiambu, P.O. Box 2362, 00900 Kiambu.
