Kisii county residents gathered in the Kisii town streets to protest the questioning of the ex-interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
According to the Kisii residents, questioning the former Interior CS should follow the right protocol, adding that Matiang’i should be treated like any other Kenyan.
The residents, while speaking to the media, stated that Matiang’i should be handled with dignity since he had served the country in various dockets where he performed well.
More than one hundred residents took to the streets chanting ‘No Matiang’i no peace.

They also asked the police to follow the law and take the former CS to court and charge him.
“We are very disappointed on how the police are handling the Matiang’i issue, take him to court and stop mishandling him,” one of the residents stated.
Nonetheless, the residents matched up to the office of Kisii Governor Simba Arati, demanding address and assurance if Matiang’i was safe.
