Six elephants killed a middle-aged woman on Wednesday, November 30 evening in Kathonzweni, Makueni County.
The neighbors reported that the elephants attacked the deceased while fetching firewood at Kwa Kasoa forest in Mbuvo Nzau.
Moreover, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers who responded to the late-night call were still evicting the jumbos as of Thursday, December 1 morning.
According to the residents, the elephants had been destroying their property since Wednesday morning.
Moreover, Kathonzweni ward MCA Benedict Maneno called out KWS for taking long to respond, further accusing them of acting after a life had been lost.

“These elephants are destroying our farms, KWS have taken too long to respond, until they killed a mother, KWS responded at 10 PM since morning,” MCA Maneno reported.
Meanwhile, residents of the area have been advised to stay woke as the elephants are still roaming in the area.
