A 35-year-old man was attacked by six elephants on the border of Bomet and Narok Counties.
The victim who is currently undergoing treatment at Longisa Hospital in Bomet County was cornered by the marauding elephants at his homestead.
Moreover, Sigor ward MCA Peter Mutai confirmed the incident which left the 35-year-old man with injuries to the leg and right hand.
“We suspect that the elephant are from the Maasai Mara Game Reserve,” Mutai stated.
The area residents believe that the elephants were in search of water amid the ongoing drought that has hit various counties across the country.

Furthermore, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS)Assistant director Narok County Osman Ibrahim confirmed the incident saying the animals were following their usual route from Mau forest when the incident happened.
“It’s normal for the elephants to take such paths during this season. We are appealing to the residents to inform KWS whenever they spot the animals to avoid cases of human-wildlife conflict. We have dispatched a helicopter to help drive them back” added Osman.
