The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has addressed a fake post circulating online claiming the release of Sahara Bare.
According to the DCI, the suspect remains in custody and has not been released on bail, contrary to posts from Yussuf Ahmed Ali suggesting that their daughter had been released.
Additionally, the detectives have confirmed that the suspect has been processed and is set to appear before the Kahawa Law Court on April 27.
āThe suspect was arrested and was not released on bond. She was processed and is appearing before the Kahawa Law Courts this morning,ā a statement from the DCI read.
DCI Arrest Bare Sahara Ahmed
On April 26, detectives confirmed arresting Bare Sahara on the charges of incendiary remarks in a viral online video that had been circulating online.
According to the detectives, the video the suspect produced undermined national cohesion.
According to the detectives, the arrest followed a swift and thorough review of the video alongside ongoing investigations to establish the context of the statements made.ā
Upon review, Bare Sahara was arrested and processed, awaiting arraignment in court on April 26.
In addition, the DCI reminded the public that, despite the freedom of expression enshrined in the Kenyan Constitution, this right is exercised within the confines of the law.
Further, any utterances that incite division, hatred, or threaten the peaceful coexistence of citizens are dealt with without any exception being made.
The public has been urged to remain calm and refrain from sharing inflammatory content on social media that may escalate tensions.

Sahara Bare Statement
Sahara issued several threats and called for action against non-local communities, particularly those that were not of the Somali ethnicity.
According to Sahara, non-Muslim officers ānywele ngumuā as she referred to them, should not be present in Garrisa.
In addition, she claimed that Garissa belongs to the Somali and not to any other ethnic group.
Further, she warned that if authorities did not take any action for the alleged shooting of a Somali driver near the Modika Junction, who, according to Sahara, was her relative, the Somalis would take action on their own.
Additionally, addressing Kipchumba Murkomen, Sahara requested that the non-Muslim police officers be posted in the Christian area.
Sahara also explained that she did not fear being arrested and that if the police were killing the public they were meant to protect, the Somalians should be given weapons to protect themselves.

Alleged Release Claim Posts
Following the arrest, social media platforms have been circulating videos showing the suspect, Sahara Bare, in the company of presumed family members after her release.
In the post, Sahara Bare is said to have been released on bond and returned to her family, with her family thanking H.E. MM Shidiye for the successful release.
