Content creator and social media sensation Elsa Majimbo found herself in the middle of a controversy surrounding English model Naomi Campbell.
Elsa had made a video on Tik Tok explaining to her fans the reasons behind her fallout with the super model. She then shared the video on X attracting numerous reactions from users.
However, she later deleted the tweets and the video noting that she preferred peace.
“I stand by my words. Content in my decision. The tweets are deleted due to seeking peace, not fear. Y’all need to understand this is something that has happened since I was 19. My goal now is happiness” Elsa tweeted.
On February 19, the content creator clarified removing the tweets after a fan asked if Naomi Campbell harassed her into doing so.
“Don’t be scared Elsa, tell us did she harass you into deleting those tweets?” asked an X user named Collen.
In response, Majimbo noted that she was not harassed by the model but deleted the tweets after Naomi allegedly threatened to sue her.
“lol no. She threatened to sue and post screenshots of a time I asked for her to help me with some older white executives that were trying to sleep with me. I’m now moving on and leaving it in the past,” Elsa noted.

Elsa Majimbo, didn’t just touch the surface of her relationship with Naomi; she also dove deep into the nuances of her friendship with the renowned supermodel.
In a video seen by The Kenya Times, contrary to speculations, Elsa made it clear that Naomi wasn’t the sole architect of her career.
While not undermining Naomi’s influence, she acknowledged that the supermodel contributed to her Hollywood connections.

“I’m not going to speak on that, but I will say that Naomi did give me a lot of credibility especially when I first came to Hollywood.
“She made me feel special she did a lot of things for me so I wouldn’t say she made me, but she did play a big role in a lot of the things,” Majimbo said.
Further, the content creator narrated how she encountered Naomi in December 2020 when the supermodel visited Nairobi.
During this time, Elsa’s ascent to fame had been nothing short of historic as her unique brand of humor and jokes, delivered through various channels, had managed to capture the hearts of a global audience.
It was during this rise that she crossed paths with Naomi Campbell, a veteran model who had spent decades in the limelight, often using her platform to shine a light on African talent.
The British supermodel not only met her expectations but went a step further by inviting Elsa to join her in Malindi for a vacation, an offer Elsa was understandably thrilled about.
The Fallout
Before the whirlwind encounter, Elsa recalls harboring aspirations of producing a documentary.
This documentary, she envisioned, would encompass her life experiences, shedding light on the pervasive issues of colorism and bullying she faced during her upbringing.
She further stated that it was during this meeting that Naomi also shared the idea of a documentary documenting Elsa’s journey.
However, the plot thickened when tensions reportedly arose during the premiere of Elsa’s documentary.
Elsa noted that she unveiled her experiences with colorism and discrimination in Kenya without giving Naomi a heads-up. This decision proved to be a catalyst for a heated phone call from Naomi, expressing outrage at being kept in the dark.
Attempts to clarify the situation bore no fruits and communication between the two fell into an abrupt silence as per the content creator’s account.

Impact of Elsa-Naomi Beef
After the disagreement, Elsa reveals feeling left out in the industry and admitted to suffering from the situation, resorting to excessive drinking as a coping mechanism.
In addition, she said it was after an encounter with fashion icon Edward Enninful, the first male and first black editor of British Vogue, that she realized the gravity of her predicament.
This realization prompted her to initiate efforts to reconcile with Naomi. She confesses to actively working towards mending the rift, expressing gratitude for the opportunities Naomi initially provided for her in the industry.
However, Majimbo also clarified that their relationship exists in a delicate equilibrium – neither friends nor foes.
Adding, “We’re not friends we’re not enemies were not anything. Talking about the Naomi Campbell situation was very hard and scary for me.
“But I don’t want to be owned by someone else and I want to acknowledge a lot of big hits and blows in my career came from another black woman and not my own incompetence.” she said.
Elsa Majimbo is a Kenyan born content creator who gained recognition in the COVID-19 pandemic period by making comedy videos at home.
Her delivery of jokes was satirical and featured her eating potato chips, on a pillow and using a pair of sunglasses.
