MTV Shuga has unveiled the cast and creative leadership for Season 2 of its youth drama, set to premiere in early 2026.

The series is part of MTV SAF’s broader Surround Sound Kenya Programme, in collaboration with Shujaaz, which uses multi-platform content to challenge limiting social norms and improve the health and social outcomes of young people nationwide.

Fan-favourite Brian Kabugi returns, joined by a mix of returning stars—including Serah Wanjiru, Basil Mungai, Matthew Ngugi, Wilson Muchemi, Fatuma Gichuru, Juliebrenda Nyambura, Fridah Mumbe, Renee Gichuki, and Mwende King’ori.

Season 2 is led by Series Producer Dina Mwende, an award-winning filmmaker and founder of the women-led production company She Moves Africa Films.

Dina, who served as Associate Producer in Season 1, takes the helm for this season, bringing her extensive experience in storytelling.

“My heart found a home in stories that do more than entertain, stories that move people and challenge us to reimagine what future is possible for young people. Being able to develop content that not only entertains but also nurtures much-needed conversations on young people and the challenges they are facing is essential in being able to do this,” Dina said.

Joining her is new director Janet Chumbe, alongside acclaimed filmmakers June Ndinya, Mkaiwawi Mwakaba, and Likarion Wainaina.
