As learners prepare to transition to Grade 10 in Senior School following the release of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results, the Ministry of Education has outlined possible career paths learners can pursue after completing Senior School, depending on their chosen pathways.

Under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, Pure Sciences form a specialised track within the STEM pathway. This track is designed for learners interested in scientific research, innovation, technology, and related professions.

The core subjects in the Pure Sciences track are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

At Senior School level, learners select three subjects from their chosen pathway and combine them with four compulsory core subjects: English, Kiswahili or Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), Physical Education, and Community Service Learning. These subject combinations determine the career options learners can pursue after Senior School.
